Who says New Year resolution has to be made on January 1st? Mine was made January 27th. Yes, I’m in, AIDS/LifeCycle 6, cyclist 3107.
After careful consideration, I have finally decided to join this wonderful event once again. In fact, as most of you know, I’ve no stop riding my bike since ALC 5. Not only that I keep training with the ALC groups, but I’m officially a training ride leader (TRL) this year, I will be leading/co-leading rides, so come out ride with us. Few weeks ago, I attended CPR and First Aid training class conducted by the American Red Cross and I’m certified!
I went to the ALC 6 Kick Off Party on the 27th after a 35-mile training ride around Griffith Park. It was great to meet so many friends I made from the ride, more like a reunion party for us. As usual, there are raffle prizes at ALC events. I was the lucky one this year! I won a gift package with bike pump, bike tools, stem bag, an Amtrak companion ticket and most importantly, an hour of complementary massage! It is a GREAT start for ALC 6. It is one fine day!
Last year with the help from all of you, I raised more than $5500. This year I’ve set my fundraising goal at $5000. I hope you will help me reach this goal and most importantly, help end AIDS.
Since cyclists get fundraising incentives, I think it’s a great idea to honor the donors as well. As a token of appreciation, I will send anyone who donate $100 or more an “official donor t-shirt.” Or if you refer 4 friends who each donate $25 or more, you will get this beautiful t-shirt as well. (Please make sure they mention your name when they make donation.)
Thanks and please stay tune for the Season II of Bicycle Diaries.
